Your Boost LED Mask
Getting the Boost LED Mask ready
The Boost is hands-free and completely portable, meaning you can wear it without being bound to a power outlet.
Before Boosting, charge the controller, using the supplied cable and plug.
Once fully charged (all 3 lights will be illuminated), detach the controller from the charging cable and plug.
Please note: The Boost will NOT work if plugged into a wall socket.
Wearing The Boost LED mask
The Boost LED Mask comes with two adjustable velcro straps that ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
To attach, thread the shorter strap through the narrow holes on either side of the mask and loop the longer strap so it sits on the top of your head as shown below, adjusting if necessary:
Benefits
Using your LED Mask will help bolster your immune system and improve the quality of your sleep by boosting antioxidants, increasing blood flow and aiding production of melatonin and serotonin.
How do you treat the skin pre- and post-LED?
Gentle exfoliation pre-treatment enables better penetration of light. This can be anything from a manual exfoliant, a gentle AHA cleanser, textured cloth, or an overnight resurfacing treatment.
Any skincare applied post treatment will work even harder on your skin, so you’ll gain more from your product.
Serum, a very thin layer of a cream mask or moisturiser can be applied under the mask, but be aware that too thick a layer will absorb an element of the light. Ingredients such as vitamin B, C and E, hyaluronics, peptides etc work well.
Our Hydrogel sheet mask (specially formulated to work with LED) is a great option to use in combination with the Mask or Décolletage Bib.
Resurfacing products containing retinol or acids are best used before or after LED, not during treatment. Products containing a small percentage of lactic acid can work well during treatment.
How often can I use my Boost?
Our recommended treatment programme is 10 minutes, 3-5 days a week.
How long can I safely use the mask?
A 10-minute treatment delivers the required dose of light to stimulate cell activity.
Is the Boost LED face mask safe to use without eye protection?
Yes, the Boost LED face mask has been tested against international eye safety regulations and has been deemed safe to use without eye protection. However, if you are quite sensitive and find the light too bright, eye shields are included with the device.
Does the Boost LED Mask deliver light that is 100% UV-free?
Red and Near-Infrared are on the opposite spectrum of light to UV. Neither the in-salon treatment or the Boost LED mask produce any UV light.
Can my Boost device be used after botox / filler / face procedures?
Yes, the Boost can be applied post-injectables.
Swelling from injectables normally occurs after about 8 hours, so the best time to use the Boost is 6-8 hours following treatment. LED will reduce the swelling in a day but bruising usually takes longer to treat; the best practice for bruising is to use LED consistently for 2 days prior (as that will lessen your chances for bruising), and then continue for the week after.
Can my Boost device be used straight after surgery?
LED is most effective in post-surgical treatment if used 24 hours after the surgery, and continuing for three days. You can continue treatment with LED for as long (and as often) as you wish, as the treatment will continue to benefit your healing tissues.
Applying a minimum of two days pre-surgery will also speed up the healing time.
Does the Boost Mask stimulate facial hair?
We have very different hair on our heads to our faces, there is no need to worry.
Can I use the Boost devices with at-home skin tools, such as microcurrent?
Yes, LED is safe to use with almost all other skincare modalities.
Can you use the Boost devices straight after microneedling?
Yes - the creator of microneedling recommends that LED is always used in combination.
I've been on holiday and exposed my skin to the sun - can I still use my device?
You don’t need to follow any special guidelines pre- or post sun exposure. This makes slotting it into your day easy as can be, and your skin won’t be more sensitised to the sun as it can be after some facials. You can even take it on holiday as a support for your skin.
Can the Boost Mask help rosacea?
Yes, we’ve had brilliant results from using the Boost LED Mask on rosacea and redness.
What is the silicone content in the devices?
The material is medical grade and therefore has to comply with international standards of biocompatibility (ISO 10993-5 and 10993-10) for the device being in contact with the skin. The silicone is contained within the product.
How many uses will I get out of my fully charged controller?
LED Mask: 6-8 10min treatment uses
NOTE: The Boost will NOT work whilst charging.

Any skincare applied post treatment will work even harder on your skin, so you’ll gain more from your product.
Our Hydrogel sheet mask (specially formulated to work with LED) is a great option to use in combination with an LED mask, as the hydrogel targets surface hydration whilst the light treats from within.
Resurfacing products such as retinol or AHA & BHA acids, are best used before or after LED.
What skincare can I use with the Boost Mask?
Our LED-Optimised Boost skincare has been scientifically formulated to enhance the effects of LED. It is the only product range to serve this specific purpose.
Is there an age recommendation?
We treat those under 16 in our salons with parental consent and recommend our wearable, at-home, Boost LED devices are used from 16 years old.
We do not have clinical research on the use of Boost LED devices on under 16s - for this reason, use on younger teenagers and children is at the choice and risk of the parent. As each child’s healing and recovery requirements will be different, we recommend seeking advice from your doctor.
Are you releasing a newer version of your LED face light mask?
While we’re always working behind the scenes on ways to innovate and improve our products, we don’t have any immediate plans to release a newer version just yet.
The original LED Mask, our current model has been carefully designed to include all the key features and technology required for exceptional performance. We’re confident you’ll love it.
